Candice & Jonathan

Details, decorations, and all that goes into wedding planning are always secondary to the experiences and the people that fill the actual day. Those people and moments were the main priorities for Candice and Jonathan's wedding, and they couldn't have planned it more perfectly. 2020 already set them up for having the small wedding they wanted anyway, and all they needed were their closest friends and family and one special night to fill with memories.

Candice said it best in a reflection on the wedding day sent to me afterwards. "Walking down alone was hard for me since I had no one to whisper 'I’m nervous' to or anyone’s hand to hold. So, I focused on one, not tripping (which was hard in that dress), but, two, everyone’s face. Something about looking up and seeing only our best friends, people who have been there for us in our best and worst times, before and since we’ve met each other, was so comforting. It reminded me of all of our memories together as a couple and as a group of friends. It made me not need to whisper 'I’m nervous' to anyone or hold anyone’s hand because everyone there has held my hand and been there for me when I was nervous, so I wasn’t alone. To summarize, during the planning process I put so much thought into the memory of my wedding not just the day. So I didn’t care what color or style my flowers were (I told my florist just make it pretty). I didn’t care if we had fine china or ate on plastic plates. I cared about the memories I would have. So, I tried to make our wedding special and personal. I love that our wedding was ours- personalized, we didn’t care about every detail or style because those change with time; we focused on the details that will always be special to us."

I honestly could not have written a better description of the day, and I was so very honored to have had the chance to capture all the beautiful memories of their day. I loved celebrating these two as we began to close out one crazy year!
